This project was undertaken to prepare the Bank to celebrate the 125th anniversary of its Charter, and to accommodate the increased volume of business in this main downtown Peoria facility.
Scope of the work included the relocation of executive staff to a new suite of offices on the third floor from the main street level, in order to reinforce its own corporate identity and unification of several separate departmental areas.
Salvage and reuse of mahogany millwork and design details, along with the coordinated use of new materials was undertaken to maintain the high quality of the original interior design and finish, and to extend a consistent image throughout the entire banking facilities.
This new full-service branch was originally built at Virginia and Knoxville Avenue for the First National Bank of Peoria, and includes drive-up and walk-in teller facilities as well as safe deposit vault services.
Additional drive-up lanes were added by Commerce Bank and the canopy extended. The original underground pneumatic tube system was replaced with an overhead system as part of the extension.
